Pierce Hely held this property in fee at the time of Griffith's Valuation, when it was valued at £33 10s. Wilson, writing in 1786, refers to "Rockville" as the seat of Mr. Hely. The house is still extant and occupied. The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage notes its association, not only with the Hely family, but also that of English and Grove-White.
