At the time of the Burke sale in 1851 the house was described as an 'old fashioned cottage style' type of building. A gable end of the house still stands with the nearby farm buildings still in use.

In 1786 Wilson refers to Park as the seat of Mr. Burke, half a mile from the Monivea-Galway road. This may refer to Park townland in the barony of Athenry, which was in the possession of James Perry at the time of Griffith's Valuation.
