- Mrs. Anne Hassard was the owner of over 300 acres in county Waterford in the 1870s as well as over 250 acres in county Kilkenny. The family were lessors in parishes around Waterford City at the time of Griffith's Valuation. Mrs Anne Hassard was the daughter of Sir Francis John Hassard. In 1846 she married her cousin Michael Dobbyn Hassard of Glenville, county Waterford. and they had 2 sons William and Richard. William Hassard of Monkstown, county Dublin, owned 1,308 acres in county Tipperary in the 1870s. This family originally from Dorset was granted land in county Fermanagh in the 17th century.
