Description

The superioress of the Presentation Convent in Cork is recorded in Griffith's Valuation as the lessor of property in the parish of Kilmeen, barony of East Carbery (West). This included part of the townland of Rossmore.

Rossmore (Kilmeen) (H5027) At the time of Griffith's Valuation, Jeremiah Collins was leasing Rossmore from the superioress of the Presentation Convent in Cork. The house was valued at £13 at the time. In 1944 the Irish Tourist Association Survey referred to Rossmore as a "substantial farm dwelling", a description which is still valid.
